Dreamers of the Day

"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that all was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, and make it possible." -T.E. Lawrence, "The Seven Pillars of Wisdom"

Where Soul Meets Body

I want to live where soul meets body
And let the sun wrap its arms around me
And bathe my skin in water cool and cleansing
And feel, feel what its like to be new

Cause in my head there’s a greyhound station
Where I send my thoughts to far off destinations
So they may have a chance of finding a place
where they’re far more suited than here

I cannot guess what we'll discover
We turn the dirt with our palms cupped like shovels
But I know our filthy hand can wash one another’s
And not one speck will remain

I do believe it’s true
That there are roads left in both of our shoes
If the silence takes you
Then I hope it takes me too
So brown eyes I hold you near
Cause you’re the only song I want to hear
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere

Where soul meets body
Where soul meets body
Where soul meets body

I do believe it’s true
That there are roads left in both of our shoes
If the silence takes you
Then I hope it takes me too
So brown eyes I hold you near
Cause you’re the only song I want to hear
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere

-Where Soul Meet Body, Death Cab for Cutie

I find it interesting when I listen to the world around me. How they try to reconcile the disconnection internally awakens a hope with a voice in me. This song is a great song musically as well.

Great song - picturesque lyrics.
You've been talking lots about 'disconnection' lately - something up with that?

...glad you always like my endings. Thanks for the encouragement.

Yeah, I have a new depth of connection which causes me to see the disconnection in the world. "He is There and He is Not Silent" and reading Ecclesiastes has cause the Holy Spirit to illuminate this in me. It has been an interesting internal journey....

Nouwen spoke of how we love Christ in both the presence of His spirit and the absence of His body

of course memory serves a great deal in loving someone in their physical absence

yet we have all seen how memory can harm and heal us

Nouwen had wisdom from God

noooo, of course not.

I apologize if that was the tone which came across.

Micah, I'm not exactly pure evil and my morals are on the mend but I think I'm an okay guy that Jason can be friends with.

Yeah this is my "life quote" and my favorite. Yes, it is my screen saver as well. It is also in the book, "The Call" by Os Guiness and in Lawrence's book.

Jen, I have changed your name. I hope you enjoy it :-)
