Dreamers of the Day

"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that all was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, and make it possible." -T.E. Lawrence, "The Seven Pillars of Wisdom"

Getting

It seems to me that the greatest cause for disbelief in Christianity is the business of "getting." Most people enter Christianity to get something out of it, but they fail to realize that it is nothing like economics. You do not invest in it. You do not need once you have Christ or Christianity. You simply let it out.

Very true. I believe many people, particularly Christians, also find it very difficult to receive, which I would distinguish from getting. For me at least, it is more difficult to respond with the "speak Lord, thy servant is listening" rather than the "getting" of performing an act to obtain the favor of perceived spiritual people that we translate into as favor from God.
